About

An Irish photographer's diary, finding and Chasing Light.

Born Ballina, Co. Mayo, I studied Fine Art Sculpture at Sligo IT in the 1980s where I was formally introduced to photography by artist, John O'Leary. I must admit though, photography was not top of my agenda at this time.

Later, I Studied Art & Design Education at NCAD and worked as a post-primary teacher of Art & Design for five years in Co. Monaghan ... loved every minute of it too!

That said, in 1994, I returned to NCAD to study for my MA and started lecturing at the college. I'm still there. I lecturer in the Faculty of Education where I'm primarily involved in Teacher Education Programmes. I also lecture in Photography and Digital Media.
I come to photography from an artists perspective, I am not a professional photographer nor do I consider myself a photographic artist, my views on photography are my own, I see it as a tool to record aspects of my engagement with the world on a daily basis.
This is my sketchbook, my work in progress, I hope you enjoy the show.
